Partnership

Outer Borough Lamp approached Intralander at a pivotal moment which was the launch of a new, design-forward pendant light platform intended to disrupt the architectural lighting space with a way to display pendant lighting without a ceiling mount or electrical intervention. Their ambitious vision was to introduce an innovative, fully customizable fixture to interior designers, major online distributors, and direct-to-consumer buyers, all while preparing for an upcoming trade show deadline.

They needed more than a product page. They needed a refined digital stage that honored the intelligence of the design community while making complexity feel effortless. Our role was to translate a highly customizable lighting system into a seamless, modern experience that embodied both precision and artistry.

Details

The challenge lay in synthesis. The pendant platform offered a wide range of configurations including adjustable heights, interchangeable shades, varied finishes, and evolving price points depending on selection. Our team carefully structured this complexity into an intuitive, single-page landing experience that felt minimal, controlled, and distinctly architectural.

We designed and developed a custom shopping interface that allowed users to explore options fluidly, personalize their fixture in real time, and view dynamic pricing updates as selections changed.

In parallel, we produced a portrait series of the designers behind Outer Borough Lamp. Rather than traditional corporate headshots, we captured them in a way that expressed their individual personalities and creative ethos. These images added a human dimension to an otherwise highly technical product launch — reinforcing that the platform was born from design thinking, not just engineering. All components of their visual identity, photography, interface design, and messaging were executed within a condensed timeline to ensure the platform was live and polished in advance of the trade show debut.

Outcome

The result was a cohesive digital showcase that positioned Outer Borough Lamp as both innovative and design-conscious. At the trade show, the landing experience served as a powerful sales tool, allowing designers and distributors to engage with the product in real time and visualize custom configurations with clarity.

The streamlined customization system elevated buyer confidence, while the refined presentation aligned the brand with the modern, minimal aesthetic valued by the architectural and interiors community. What began as a complex matrix of options became a controlled, elevated experience and one that reflected the intelligence of the product and the vision behind it.
